Till the day it was opened in 1998, Bebek Balıkçısı has never made concession about the service, quality and satisfaction of the customer. Fantastic sea view, 120 years old Laterna and wireless connection to the internet (unlimited) shows a harmony of old and new.
You can witness live fish trades with the fisher boats dock to the port of the restaurant.Besides the celebrities from Turkey, it is possible to see the foreign celebrities. For example, Oliver Stone, German Foreign Affairs Minister Fischer, Al Gore, Jan Claude Van Dame, Catharine Deneuve, Gerard Depardieu or Bahrain King can be seen next to you.

As its name implies (kat means floor), it occupies the fifth floor of a back-street building in Cihangir. A giant neon angel shines at street level, and a rooftop terrace lit with red lanterns opens during the summer. The two businesses are managed under the leadership of Chairman of the Board Rasim Özkanca of Istinye Park Masa Restaurant, Istanbul Modern Cafe-Restaurant and Borsa Restaurants, along with Umut Özkanca, Ali Özkanca and Mehmet Can Göker.
Visitors of IKSV’s new building can enjoy one of the finest views in Istanbul and the exclusive menu created by Şakir Eczacıbaşı and Rasim Özkanca at X Restaurant & Bar.X Restaurant & Bar, Candidate to becoming Istanbul’s New Favourite Spot Rasim Özkanca and his team have achieved numerous occasions of success ever since they have joined the food & beverage industry. Their 8th venue, X Restaurant & Bar will be serving visitors 7 days a week between 11:30-02:00.
The restaurant has a capacity of 90 seats during winter and 122 seats in summer including the balcony. The 70 seat capacity terrace at the second floor of the restaurant will open in May 2010, once spring sets in.X Restaurant & Bar will further the mission of the IKSV building with its pioneering and innovative design that bears the signature of Nazlı Gönensay.
An architectural synthesis that moves beyond all norms of form and texture has been achieved, with special attention given to the harmony of parts to whole, and wide and narrow angles. As a result, the venue has become home to numerous symbols associated with Istanbul’s silhouette and dynamism.
Asymmetric tables and couches, bar, floor and ceiling surfaces created with triangular forms, ceramics created especially for IKSV by the Iznik Education and Instruction Foundation that cover the pizza oven and door handles were all designed to go hand in hand with an attitude that extends to the name and logo of the restaurant.
Güngör Taner’s IKSV Design plates and service glasses selected from Paşabahçe’s exclusive series complement the modern and creative atmosphere realized by Gönensay.
X Restaurant & Bar is on its way to become one of the favourite spots of Istanbul. The restaurant’s chef cook is Murat Karaduman, who has previously worked in restaurants bearing Michelin stars in Portugal, Austria and Germany. Although Karaduman was born in Austria and has spent most of his professional career in Austria and Portugal, he prefers Mediterranean cuisine above all. The exclusive menu that chef cook Murat Karaduman, Rasim Özkanca and Şakir Eczacıbaşı have put together will serve creative tastes from a fusion of Turkish and Mediterranean cuisine.
